Vibram Five Fingers
Back in the day, I loved Vibram’s Five Fingers shoes for their simplicity. The design looked peculiar, but the shoes served the purpose. My circa 2007 black KSOs are still my favorite minimalist shoes I own.
Those second generation of Five Fingers shoes (the Sprints, KSOs, and Flows) were tremendous from a functional standpoint. Okay, the Flows sucked. The other two were great, though.

Vibrams’s Five Fingers KSO is the current gold-standard by which all other minimalist shoes are measured. I have used this shoe extensively for about three years in many different conditions. It is my default gym shoe, my winter running shoe, my asphalt-too-hot-for-barefoot shoe, and the shoe I wore to finish my first 100 mile race in September of 2009. First, I have to say I am a huge fan of Vibram Five Fingers shoes. I believe they are an excellent product! I personally own two pair of KSOs and plan on buying the new Treks when they become available. I highly recommend the shoe to anyone interested in going the minimalist route.
