About Jason
Hi, I’m Jason Robillard. I am a barefoot and minimalist shoe educator, author/writer/publisher, barefoot/minimalist shoe consultant, aspiring photographer and videographer, and modern-day left-handed kilt-wearing adventure seeker. I am the author of “The Barefoot Running Book”, am the editor/owner of the Barefoot Running University website and my family’s “Robillard Adventures” website, and owner of Barefoot Running Press. I am also a founding member of the Barefoot Runners Society, a national non-profit organization dedicated to advocating for the acceptance of barefoot running. I have written articles for Ultrarunning Magazine, Competitor.com, Birthdayshoes.com, appeared the National Public Radio, “The Living Barefoot” show, PureFit Radio, and have been interviewed for the San Francisco Chronicle, Grand Rapids Press, Muskegon Chronicle, Holland Sentinel, Denver Post, Competitor.com, and several other leading newspapers.
I utilize over a decade of experience as a professional educator, a Master’s Degree in education, and my experiences as a barefoot ultramarathon runner to lead dynamic, hands-on barefoot running workshops and clinics. Recently, I have collaborated with many experts in this field, from fellow runners, to researchers, to medical professionals to help advance the art and science of barefoot running. I have also started consulting with shoe manufacturers to produce minimalist shoes that meet the unique demands of barefoot runners.
I have a lovely wife Shelly, and three great kids. Currently, we are in the process of planning a grand adventure. We will be traveling around the United States in an RV to seek out new adventures, spread the word about barefoot and minimalist shoe running, meet new people, and promote our other interests such as environmentalism, outdoor activities, functional fitness, and a few other hobbies and interests.
