Get a Head-Start on Movember with the Handlebar Mustache Challenge
Dudes- need something interesting to do as winter descends upon us AND you have the ability to grow facial hair (sorry pre-pubescent boys)? Heard about No-Shave November?
I recommend participating in “Movember.” The actual organization is set up to raise awareness of male-related cancers, which is cool. The fact that you also get to rock a badass mustache is icing on the cake!
Since about mid-August, I’ve been growing a handlebar mustache. I’ve given fairly regular picture updates via Facebook… here’s the latest:
After growing beards for the better part of two years, I needed to change it up a bit. I was inspired by a dude that ran TransRockies. How far will I let it go? Who knows… it’s sort of addicting.

October 19, 2012Good cause, but oh dear… Are your kids old enough to be embarrassed by your facial fashion choices? Mind you, their parents run around barefoot and sometimes in costume, so the handlebars probably don’t even phase them.
Still it sounds fun. If I were to participate however, Movember would likely become a celebration of celibacy. My wife is not down with the ‘stache.

October 19, 2012Our explicit goal as parents is to embarrass our children at every opportunity. It gives us the opportunity to teach them the skills of dealing with social mores.

October 19, 2012I think this is a great cause and a fun way to support. I will start my movember today too as I just shaved this morning.
Nice Stache!

I can’t even remember what it’s like to eat ice cream from a cone.
